DTF: We use hot peel DTF film. Once the image has cooled off a couple seconds it is ready to pull and do a second press with teflon.
Temp: 300-315 Degrees
Time: 10-15 Seconds first press, 5-10 second press.
Sublimation: For sublimation transfers we use inkowl for its superior transfer rate.
Temp: 375-400 Degrees(varies depending on product)
Time: 45-60 Seconds
Note: These are roughly the settings for most products. However, there can be some variances based on the machines, environmental things and different types of materials.
Tips: These are just some of the basic tips and tricks we use here in the shop to help everyone achieve making some of the most memorable items.
Heat Tape Dispenser: This will help you dispense multiple pieces of tape at one time. Super useful when placing things correctly.
this is the one we use: https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Heat-Tape-Dispenser-Sublimation/dp/B09QKD9FC7/ref=asc_df_B09S2YRX8T/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693071499034&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=865390540599294917&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9021218&hvtargid=pla-1729916123653&mcid=2109316a40fd3baf94bba105eae1aa1d&gad_source=1&th=1
Tshirt Alignment Ruler: Literally all kinds out there. These will help with lining things up better and accurately. When used with a heat press with laser you can actively dial in all your settings precisely.
Press Pads: These are extremely useful when pressing pockets, near edges or seams. Also helps with buttons. You can find these with the rulers in a package most times. If you do not have the right size, we always use boxes to make the shape we need. 2 pieces of card board wrapped with heat tape is perfect.
Parchment paper: When pressing thin things like bandannas with dtf, the parchment will help catch any extra glue that comes through. Super useful on pockets as well. Also used in sublimation to prevent bleeding from one side to the other.
IRON-ON: We do get asked often if these are iron on. While the process sounds the same it is a bit different. The heat press will not only apply heat evenly, but will also apply even pressure. The pressure and second press is what helps secure the image itself to the cloth. A iron cannot offer the same.
