Print & Press: Hats (Your Hat)

In short: Print & Press: Hats is a service where you supply the hats and Roman Empire Print Shop prints and presses your design on them with commercial DTF, at $5.00 per placement (front, side or back) per hat. It is for anyone with their own caps, dad hats, trucker hats or beanies; jobs are ready in 1 to 3 business days after both the garments and artwork are in hand, and pressed hats are picked up at the shop since this is local service only.

Bring us your hats, or have them shipped to us, and we press your design on them. Front, side or back, on caps, dad hats, trucker hats and beanies.

Print & Press pricing, per hat

How it works

1. Order here. Pick your placements, set the quantity to the number of garments, and upload your artwork (PNG, 300 DPI, transparent background). One design per placement.
2. Get the garments to us. Bring them to the shop, or have them shipped straight to us.
3. We print and press. Commercial DTF, pressed on our production presses, ready in 1 to 3 business days after the garments and artwork are both in hand.
4. Pick up at the shop. Local service only. We do not ship pressed garments back.

Then put your retailer order number in the order notes at checkout here, and if the retailer gives you a gift note or delivery note field, put your Roman Empire order number in it. As long as the two orders reference each other, we match the box to your job the day it arrives. Boxes we cannot match are held for 30 days.

What we press on

Cotton, cotton blends, polyester, fleece and most performance fabrics. Nylon, waterproof shells and heavily textured fabric: ask first. We press what you send at your risk; we cannot replace a garment we did not supply.

How much does it cost to press a design on my own hat?

Pricing is per hat: $5.00 for one placement, $10.00 for two placements and $15.00 for three placements. Placements can be the front, side or back.

Can I ship my hats to you instead of dropping them off?

Yes. Order your blanks from any retailer and ship them to YOUR NAME c/o Roman Empire Print Shop, 822 6th Ave S, Great Falls, MT 59405, then put the retailer order number in your order notes. If the retailer has a gift or delivery note field, put your Roman Empire order number there so the box is matched to your job the day it arrives; unmatched boxes are held for 30 days.

Do you ship the pressed hats back to me?

No. This is local service only and pressed garments are picked up at the shop.

How long does it take?

Hats are printed and pressed on our production presses and are ready in 1 to 3 business days after both the garments and the artwork are in hand.

What file should I upload for my hat design?

Upload a PNG at 300 DPI with a transparent background, one design per placement. Anything left in the background will print, and art should be 300 DPI at the size it will print since upscaling a small file only softens it.

What hat fabrics can you press on?

We press on cotton, cotton blends, polyester, fleece and most performance fabrics. Ask first about nylon, waterproof shells and heavily textured fabric; we press what you send at your risk and cannot replace a garment we did not supply.

What press settings do you use for DTF?

Our DTF settings are 290-300 degrees F for 7-12 seconds. It is hot peel film, so let it cool a couple of seconds, peel, then press again for 5-10 seconds with a textured Teflon sheet (or a similar pressing sheet) on top.
